Around 175 properties have been evacuated as a result of the Buckley Street blast.

The affected families are staying with friends or in emergency accommodation provided by Oldham Council and First Choice Homes.

A refuge centre has been set up at Crompton House School where people can go during the day for food and refreshments.

OTC have also rallied round in huge numbers to provide our own support to those in need, through our social media sites, a column in the Oldham Chronicle and a bulletin on Radio Revolution. We ensured the local community were aware of our collection point and we have been overwhelmed on the generosity of staff and Oldham residents. 

We took our donation boxes to the Salvation Army on Farrow Street in Oldham.

Management Team

OTC’s Board of Directors, Management Team & Staff are pleased to announce the results of a recent Ofsted Inspection - Overall Effectiveness of Provision, Grade 2.  We have received very positive feedback and recommendations from Ofsted. 

We are committed to improving our services and will focus on what the Inspection Team have recognised.  The newly established management team and company restructure is proving to be effective and we feel we have the foundations in place to be a leading provider of learning and teaching.

FrameUp, a user friendly management information system allows assessors to monitor learner progress effectively, with the ability to run many reports in a variety of charts to feed back to the learner & their company.  This is something we hope will improve the commitment & help motivate learners.  The overall and timely success rates reports will be used on a monthly basis to keep track of where we are and for profiling future success rates.

Managers & staff will have an understanding of the organisation’s performance & activity.

OTC Commitment

The rebranding is an indication of the commitment of OTC to invest in its brand and drive the organisation forward as a leading local training provider.

The task of not just branding, but implementing a consistent identity throughout the centre and the objects within will not be straightforward. In fact, the rollout of the new branding is ongoing throughout this year as there are many different ideas to implement across a range of items.

Barrie Cave, acting CEO of OTC, said: “There has been a number of significant changes at OTC in the last 18 months and we believe that now is a perfect time to close one chapter in OTC’s history and the beginning of a new one.

We wanted to encapsulate what the new OTC stood for and what it means to our staff  and customers and then ensure we have a refreshed visual identity that supports the new OTC.

Our new brand identity and core values underpin OTC’s intention to be the learners and companies first choice for training excellence. By getting closer to our customers and offering the products/service companies and potential learners demand, OTC will stand out from its competitors.

After spending many months working on our new site we have tried to provide a more user friendly service  and a better display of our training products.

The site contains information on everything from what parents employers and future learners need to know about our services and is expected to receive thousands of visits every month.

The website is going to have regular updates throughout the year, which will not only provide latest information but will keep people in touch with news from the industry.

The website will use interactive media such as videos, media releases, photos, blogs and social media to keep visitors up-to-date with the latest news.

As this is a new step and the aim is to provide a better more user friendly site for you, our customer, we would welcome any feedback in relation to the site, in particular anywhere you feel we could improve the usability.
