This vacancy is for a Level 3 Engineering Fitter – Electrical Apprenticeship.
Engineering fitter / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
Hours of work:
Mon-Thurs 7:30am to 16:00pm
Fri 7:30am to 15:00pm
The Job Role will entail:
- Performing duties in a professional manner, carrying out instructions from the supervisor, under supervision
- Although based at the Heywood plant, on occasion the Apprentice will be required, often at short notice, to travel worldwide to assist with the installation and service of machinery
- Stripping, dismantling and despatching machinery
- Manual handling
- Working at height
- Using snips, cutters, ratchets, drills and other power tools

- A flexible, adaptable approach to employment in this role is essential to the successful operation of the Department
- Overtime in this role is expected as and when necessary
- Good time management capabilities
- Ability to develop and maintain, mutually beneficial relationships with team members and colleagues
- Willing to listen to advice and develop self accordingly
