Apprentice Engineering Design and Draughtsperson

The Job Role will entail:

Guttermaster Limited is offering the opportunity for a highly motivated person to join the Design team. You will learn a variety of tasks and skills related to this position including:

• Relevant national and industry health and safety standards and legislation relevant to aluminium for construction
• Engineering codes and standards
• Fundamentals of engineering and design
• Computer Aided Design (CAD), including 2D and 3D modelling
• General engineering/manufacturing mathematical and scientific principles, methods, techniques, symbols, and calculations as required for the range of systems supplied
• Knowledge of Aluminium and Steel alloy properties and their characteristics
• Determining client’s requirements through detailed analysis of construction drawings, bills, and verbal communications
• Liaise with architects, site and design managers
• Attend pre-contract design meetings
• Attend internal handover meetings
• Produce detailed CAD drawings for client approval
• Producing design work in accordance with project programmes
• Building Information Modelling (BIM)
• Manufacturing and construction methods
• Assembly of engineered components
• Stocktaking
